EMPOWERING THE NEXT GENERATION OF THEATRE CREATIVES
At The Prescott Conservatory, we believe that community theatre is about so much more than performing on stage—it’s about storytelling, creativity, collaboration, and connection. Our brand-new “Design & Hype” Camp was created especially for tweens and teens who love theatre but may not want to be in the spotlight.
This two-week summer camp offers a behind-the-brand experience where campers step into the creative and promotional side of theatre. From graphic design and photography to marketing and community outreach, participants will become the official “Hype Squad” for our summer production of Mean Girls Jr.
CAMP HIGHLIGHTS
Graphic Design & Branding: Learn how to use Canva to create eye-catching flyers, posters, stickers, t-shirts, and more.
Headshot Photography: Get hands-on experience taking professional headshots of the Mean Girls Jr. cast.
Marketing & Outreach: Dive into street team and guerrilla marketing techniques to spread the word and build excitement for the show.
Show Program Creation: Design and format the official Mean Girls Jr. show program—credits, bios, layouts, and all!
Merchandising: Create custom show merchandise and have the opportunity to sell your items during show weekends.
Float Design & Parade Performance: Collaboratively design and build our Mean Girls Jr. parade float and perform a fun musical number during the 2025 Prescott Rodeo Days Parade on July 5!
Karaoke Wrap Party: Celebrate your success with a fun Mean Girls-themed karaoke party on the final day!
WHY IT MATTERS
Theatre is a collaborative art form, and every production is powered by a team of creative professionals working behind the scenes—designers, marketers, photographers, and brand builders. Our mission is to nurture the full spectrum of talents in the performing arts and to show kids that there are many exciting and fulfilling ways to be a part of theatre beyond the stage.
This camp gives students practical, hands-on skills they can carry into future creative projects, volunteer work, and even careers—while being part of a real production in an incredibly fun and encouraging environment.

Time: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
No camp on July 4 in observance of Independence Day
Parade Participation: Saturday, July 5 at the 2025 Prescott Rodeo Days Parade
Ages: 10–18
Cost: $250

YOUTH LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
We’re excited to invite a select number of teens ages 14–19 to join us as assistants and youth leaders for our Design & Hype Camp this summer!
This is a fantastic opportunity for teens who are passionate about leadership, marketing, design, or working with younger students to take on a meaningful and impactful role within a creative team environment. Youth leaders will play an essential part in the day-to-day camp experience—mentoring younger campers, helping guide creative projects, assisting instructors, and supporting the overall flow and energy of the camp.
They’ll gain hands-on experience in areas like:
Creative collaboration
Event and project management
Team building and communication
Time and task organization
Peer leadership and mentoring
Marketing and promotion strategy
Youth leaders will also have the chance to build their resumes, earn volunteer hours, and develop skills that are valuable for future jobs, college applications, or even launching their own creative projects. Most importantly, they’ll be empowered to lead in a way that reflects our mission: to nurture, support, and uplift young people through the performing arts—even off the stage.
